So last night, I decided to try out this free program Apophysis, where you can create some truly amazing fractal images... I'm always mesmerized by that type of art because it's just so beautiful. So I tested it out and made a small render to transfer to Photoshop and try to get inspired to create something. The problem was that once I created the background, I wasn't really inspired for what to do with the rest of the banner. So I stuck some text from a song that I was listening to at the time... I'm not sure if I like it or not. I like the background but I may go back and take out the text and come up with something else. -shrugs-

looks great. I love the background I think the colors are good together. your typography works well text is well placed, the subtext could be a bit smaller imo but other than that great job.

I really like this effect ??pril! Especially the colours! At first glance you kind of only see blue, but if you look a bit closer there are greens, reds, pinks and yellows. By just having the colours in the piece you've automatically added loads of depth. Normally, I don't like more than 2 light sources, but I really do in this one.. but I'm not sure I can give a reason why.. My favourite part is the border! I don't like it when people do this type of design then add a standard 1px border round the edge. Have you added a border then adjusted the layer to overlay? I used to use Apophysis, but never got an outcome like this! I'd love it if you could do something similar (or use this one) and save it as a .psd or .psp document for me? Then I could use it as the background for a signature? Then it's like a collab'.. But that's up to you haha!

Aw, thanks very much, I appreciate the feedback! First off, the border, you're basically right, but I didn't use a separate layer, all I did was use the Stroke feature--I first applied a 3 pixel black border set to overlay, then applied another stroke of 1 pixel normal. So it's basically 2 pixels of an overlay border. I hate those standard 1px borders too, so I usually do that little trick to spice it up slightly. I may do a new one for you if you want to use it because for some reason I saved it as a .pdf instead, but it's only the background, it was after I'd merged all the layers I used. But I can resave as a .psd for you if you want it, though it will still only consist of the background merged together. Or I can do another one if you want, and just make sure to save the .psd before merging. Up to you.

I thought so! I almost always do an overlay border, sometimes only on the top and bottom.
I'd be happy with just the background as a .pdf, then if you do any more in the future you could save it as a .psd - but don't rush, just as and when.
